How we use AI
Publica.la Plus activates AI features only when you explicitly request them. No AI processing happens in the background or without your action, and we notify you before any material change to how your data is handled.
AI creative tools
Our AI tools are built for publishing teams: draft descriptions and blurbs, summarize manuscripts and long documents, generate marketing copy and get a hand with metadata. Each one runs only when you start it.
How your content is processed
Processing happens strictly on demand. Only minimal text content, metadata (such as language and title) and your prompts are transmitted to AI providers over encrypted TLS 1.2+ connections.
Our commitments
- Your content is not used to train, fine-tune or improve any AI models.
- AI outputs are working drafts for your team and are not stored or redistributed by Publica.la Plus.
- Your content is not shared with third parties beyond the API calls described above.
- AI is used solely to support your own publishing work on content you already own or are authorized to use.
AI providers & compliance
We work with leading providers — Anthropic (our default), OpenAI and AWS — that maintain SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance with zero-retention policies on API inputs.
Your controls
AI tools are opt-in. You decide which ones your workspace uses and when to run them, and you can reach us any time to adjust your configuration.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you use my content to train AI models?
- No. Your content is not used for training, fine-tuning or improving any AI model. Our providers contractually commit to not using API inputs for model training.
- What data is sent to AI providers?
- No account identifiers or personally identifiable information. Only the minimal text content, metadata (such as language) and the prompts needed to run a tool are transmitted.
- Does this comply with GDPR?
- Yes. All AI providers maintain GDPR-compliant data processing agreements, and no personal data is sent to them.
- Are AI outputs stored or redistributed?
- AI outputs are delivered back to you and are not stored or redistributed by Publica.la Plus.
- How do AI credits relate to this?
- Each AI tool you run spends credits from your monthly allotment, so you only ever spend credits on tools you choose to start.
